Beauty is an investment — and sometimes it’s just nicer to spread that investment out. Whether you’re booking brows, lips, or another permanent makeup service, Afterpay gives you the option to enjoy your results now and split the cost into smaller, more manageable payments over time.

Setting Up Your Afterpay Card (Important)

To use Afterpay in person at EMBLADING, you must be APPROVED by Afterpay and have your Afterpay Card ready in your digital wallet PRIOR your appointment.

Please complete these steps in advance:

1. Download the Afterpay app and create your account.

2. In the app, tap “Card” to access your Afterpay Card.

3. Add the card to your digital wallet (Apple Pay or Google Pay).

4. Make sure your account is fully set up and active.

Afterpay approval happens in real time at checkout, and not everyone is approved. Approval is determined solely by Afterpay and is outside of my control.

For that reason, it’s important to:

•Ensure your Afterpay account is active

•Confirm your Afterpay Card is in your wallet

•Be prepared with a backup form of payment

If Afterpay is declined at checkout for any reason, full payment will be required using another accepted method (cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Cash App). Your appointment cannot be completed without successful payment.

Fees & Transparency

Afterpay does not charge interest to customers when payments are made on time. However, Afterpay does charge the business a processing fee for every transaction.

EMBLADING is a small, independent business, and I believe in full transparency. When Afterpay is used, I simply pass on the exact fees I’m charged — nothing more. This allows me to continue offering flexible payment options while keeping pricing fair for everyone.

When Afterpay is used in person, two processing fees apply:

1. Afterpay Processing Fee

• 6% + $0.30 per transaction

2. Square Tap-to-Pay Card Processing Fee

• 2.6% + $0.10 per transaction

These are the standard rates charged by Square and Afterpay.

💡 Important: The total of the transaction fees must be paid directly to me using a separate payment method — either cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Cash App. If you try to pay the fee using a physical card or tap-to-pay, an additional Square transaction fee will apply (usually only a couple of dollars, but all tap-to-pay payments incur a fee). This ensures the fee is fully covered without reducing your service payment.

Payments made via cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Cash App for the fee do not incur additional transaction charges.

Example

For a $500 permanent makeup service paid using Afterpay in person:

•Afterpay fee:

6% of $500 = $30.00 + $0.30 = $30.30

•Square tap-to-pay card fee:

2.6% of $500 = $13.00 + $0.10 = $13.10

Total processing fees: $43.40 (to be paid separately using cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Cash App)
